Packing Lightly

Packing Lightly Makes Your Trip More Enjoyable

No one enjoys lugging around a heavy suitcase, but we've all been there – packed to the brim with clothes we “might” need, just in case. And while it may seem like you’re better prepared, the truth is packing lightly can make your trip a lot more enjoyable. Here's how.

Packing Lightly Saves You Money

One of the biggest benefits of packing lightly is that it can save you money. Airline baggage fees have become increasingly common in recent years, and they can add up quickly – especially if you're traveling with a family. By packing only the essentials, you can get everything into a carry-on, and avoid all those fees.

Packing Lightly Reduces Your Stress Level

A big benefit of packing lightly is that it can help reduce your stress level. First, there is zero chance of an airline “losing” your luggage. All your possessions are within your control all the time. Second, there’s no standing around at a baggage carousel waiting, hoping, for your luggage to arrive. And third, if your original flight is cancelled, or due to delays you decide to switch to another flight, your luggage is always with you. Packing lightly definitely reduces stress!

You Really Don’t Need All That Stuff

Seriously, how many times have you overpacked and brought along a whole bunch of items you never needed. My guess is probably on every trip. There’s a simple solution. Use the size of your carry-on as your ultimate guide. If you can’t get it into the carry-on, leave it home!

Bottom line - the next time you're packing for a trip, remember to pack lightly. It might seem like a challenge at first, but the benefits are definitely worth it. Not only will you save money on baggage fees, but you'll reduce your overall stress level, and you’ll travel relaxed and happy. And isn't that what vacations are all about?
